In the peacefulness of the Roman countryside, an ancient Borgo greets its guests in a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. Surrounded by luscious parks, although only twenty minutes away from the centre of Rome, the castle used to be an ancient transit station for those travelling on the Via Cassia . Probably one of the many properties of the Chigi, who may have it rebuilt or restored in ‘600, on a previous structure of possible medieval origin. It was later occupied by Valdambrini in ‘700 and Sili nell”800, families of renters Chigi.
The complex, as well as a central building with several rooms by wooden ceilings, terracotta floors, antique fireplaces topped with coats of arms, a play of interior stairs, also consists of a crenellated tower, with the same decorative arches of the Castle Square Caraffa . Then there are cellars, warehouses, pigsties, stables, riding stables, fountains, two ancient wells, a wood stove.

The estate’s gardens are a perfect setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies and festivities, and can welcome up to 180 guests during the summer season. The imposing tower overlooks the master villa that can accommodate from 50 to 180 guests in its four banquet halls adorned with ancient fireplaces and elegant furnishings. The estate is a perfect venue for meetings, conventions and private parties; the villa’s two suites and eight mini-suites supply additional comfort for overnight residents or guests.

The estate, a few kilometers away from Rome, is framed by the harmonious hills which separate lakes Bracciano and Martignano from the Sabatini mountains. This green haven was once home to the Romans who, in ancient times, chose to spend long periods of leisure in their villas, far away from the city’s frenzy. The Tenuta di Ripolo dates back to the 17th Century and was a game-preserve, before the Odescalchi princes took residence.
